I don't know why, but for months I have been harbouring an infatuation with the name Ludmila. I know the idea of "lud" doesn't sound so attractive in English, I'm not Eastern European, and I don't even know how to properly pronounce this name, but I just love it written out. Any thoughts? Any combinations? I'm not having any more kids, but I'd love to write a story revolving around a character with this fanciful name.
Ludmila...

I'd pronounce Ludmila 'lood-MEE-la'. I prefer the Ludmilla spelling; something about the two l's is more aesthetically pleasing to me.

No apology necessary. I looked it up and apparently it's LUD-meel-ah. I still like it and know it probably wouldn't be something everyone would take to.

Is Ludmilla with two l's legit? I think I like it better with two l's if it's legitimate too!

Interesting, I just looked them up on here, and Ludmila is pronounced lud- MEE- lah and Ludmilla is pronounced luh- MILL -ah. I think I like the latter pronounciation as that is how I've been saying it all along. BtN says that Ludmilla is the English form of the Czech name.

I don't really car for the name at all. That said, I prefer the Ludmilla. The 2 L's looks better to me.
