Hi! I'm Maggie, 28, married to Brian, SAHM to Katie, 26 months. We live in MN. I just found out about a week ago that I'm pregnant! I'm planning on a homebirth this time. We're Christians and we're into attachment parenting and grace-based discipline.
Grace-Based Discipline is about modeling, being kind and firm, teaching (discipline), correcting (verbally admonishing), respecting and being respected in a way that can only come from relationship.

It's non-punitive (no time-outs, no spanking, etc.). At least, it is in our case. It doesn't involve anything disrespectful or demeaning to the child, but it does set limits and enforce boundaries. It involves applying the grace and compassion we have in Jesus to our children.

I was raised in a fundamentalist home in a Baptist faith and have learned a lot from in in raising my children, but had never heard of this technique before. I learned also how not to do things, while inthat upbringing too.
But it was interesting to read. Good luck with it.
I see you have a two year old. We all know how the terrible two's are, so I'm interested to know how you punish and control using this method. The website didn't get into specifics.
