Hello!
My name is Natasha (27yrs old) and I joined about 4 days ago. Housewife (well, house-fiance) to Matthew, and Mommy to Sebastian (9yrs) and Isaiah (2yrs). Born and raised in Florida, but have been living in Cornwall, England since 1997.
Stumbled upon the site because I was fed up having negative reactions to Isaiah's name. This site was exactly what I was looking for...good, honest opinions from people who didn't have to face me! (Great site, by the way ) Its very disheartening to put your heart and soul into naming this precious little human being, and not have the same enthusiasm from other people around you. The wide smile slowly diminishes as you introduce them to the 50th person and they give you an...'Oh, Isaiah, OK'...
Anyway, since joining the site, I've snapped out of it and realised that it really is no-one's business. Its up to you to help them grow into their names and to be confident about who they are.
Looking forward to more children and I'll definitely dig around on the site for new names when the time comes!
(And your right Anabel...this site is addictive! )

Hi everyone! My name is Angela and I joined a couple weeks ago. I'm 24 years old and a stay-at-home mom/part-time college student. My husband and I have a 20-mth. old daughter, Emily and have another one on the way (edd 1/20)!!!! We haven't really agreed on any names, so this site has helped me add to my growing list of names....maybe he'll actually hear one he likes!

Hi! I'm Brandolyn, I'm from Alabama, my husband and I are expecting our first (boy--09/17/04). I was linked to this site when Gwyneth named her Apple! I've been here ever since and have laughed so hard and read/heard some great advice.
My husband is really excited about this baby coming--it's the pregancy part he doesn't dig!! So it's nice to have some encouragement and commiseration!

What part of the pregnancy doesn't His Highness like? I didn't realize that the men had pregnancy troubles! Why, I thought it was always the one actually carrying the baby!!!!!
Welcome!

With the disclaimer that I'm an emotional basketcase......He forgets our 'baby' appointments, forgets that we have SOMETHING going on in September (heard him say that on the phone the other day!) Recently, he's gung-ho about the nursery (I'm a planner--don't like to wait 'til the last minute!), before that I had to start painting a little bit--then he'd come and take over--I think he forgets that there's sort of a clock ticking here--this kid IS coming soon!!
He's REALLY a super guy--believe me, I do know the difference!!--he'll be a great dad, too. He's making extra efforts (I've mentioned his lack of interest in pregnancy progress) to ask how active the baby's been today, feel him moving, etc. He's probably just one of those unfortunate 100% male type men!!! They mostly don't mean to be the way they are!!!! Hopefully, my son will be a tiny bit different--but who knows!!LOL!

Ha! If that's all it is... he has it a lot better than you do. I'm sure he cares and is excited, but you're the one with the hormones and the baby kicking (would you believe I still have regular dreams that I'm pregnant and the baby is kicking, and it actually HURTS? Maybe that comes from having such a big baby...my last one really DID hurt when he moved!) and he'll have to buck up and take it like a man. Period. I have no tolerance for non-participation!
So you know it's a boy then? Great. Boys are wonderful. I have three. And a daughter. Did I mention how much EASIER boys are than girls?

I knew very early that I was pregnant--though I never had been--just felt freaky! I also knew in my heart this was a boy--I really, really wanted a girl--I was just a smidge, not sad, but I guess resigned (?) when we found out. But each day, I get more excited about this little man!! And his dad! Oh, dear, the water works when he saw the ultrasound at the doc's office!!
