Would you say that Ryvre is more acceptable as a name because it's spelt different to the actual word River.
And no, I didn't make it up I found it spelt this way on a names list so I assume it's legit.
TIA

If you want to use River spell it River.

No, it looks awful sorry. Misspelling something just looks very illiterate, River is fine as it is.

I didn't make it up & I'm not trying to be tryndee, I've actually seen it spelt like this on quite a few baby name lists now. I love the sound of the name River but I thought spelt this way it's not so obvious that you're naming your child after a 'body of water'. Just like how some people add an 'e' onto sky (Skye)to make it more of a name than just a word from nature.

People will still hear "River" no matter how you spell it and misspelling such a common word is going to seem ridiculous and add confusion.
I may not be the most conventional in my naming choices but I can't understand the appeal of intentionally misspelling a name. Any baby name site that lists "Ryvre" as a legitimate name choice would not be one I would rely on for naming any future child.

I think it best to go with River. I would not pronounce Ryvre like RIver. I'd pronounced it Reev-ruh.

I agree.
Ryver... maybe. But Ryvre... nah... . I mean, how do you pronounce "vr"?

Why can't people leave spellings as they are?
River is a fine name. Spelling it Ryvre just completley ruins it.
